Kalamazoo, Day 3: Bog Iron

Here's a bit of living archaeology for you: A fellow named Darrel Markewitz and his team here have produced a clay smelter that's an analog to viking-age smelters of Scandinavia and they are, in this rather long and difficult-to-hear video, at the final steps of a two-day process of blooming bog iron.
